George Washington University's Sean Joyce Named October 31 Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- George Washington University's Sean Joyce (Jr., St. Louis, Mo./LaDue) notched six saves to lead the Colonials past Salem International University by a 10-4 final score to earn the October 31 Men's Varsity Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week award.
The victory was one of two games over the weekend for George Washington as the Colonials fell to the United States Naval Academy, 15-8, in the final Southern Division regular season contest of the 2011 season.
GW finishes the regular season with a 10-16 overall record and a fourth place mark in the Southern Division-East Region (2-6). The Colonials will now enter the Southern Division Championship on November 4-6 at Princeton University's DeNunzio Pool with the fourth seed.
