Brown University's Svetozar Stefanovic Earns October 31 Northern Division Player of the Week Honors
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Brown University's Svetozar Stefanovic (Jr., Belgrade, Serbia/Russian Embassy) led the No. 20-ranked Bears' offense with six goals, two assists, six steals, 11 ejections drawn and two saves at the Ivy Championship hosted by Harvard University to claim the October 31 Men's Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week award.
Against Harvard, Stefanovic knocked in one goal, handed out an assist, collected four steals, drew three ejections blocked a shot as the Bears rolled to a 15-5 win to reach the title tilt.
Facing No. 14 Princeton University for the Ivy Championship, he racked the Tigers with five goals, an assist, two steals, a field block and eight ejections drawn in a 16-5 victory.
A four-time Northern Division Player of the Week honoree this season after previously picking up the September 19, October 10 and October 17 accolades, the award marks the 12th weekly honor in Stefanovic's career as he garnered the September 7, September 21, October 12, October 19, October 26 and November 2, 2009 Northern Division Rookie of the Week laurels in addition to the September 4 and September 28, 2009 Player of the Week awards.
