Wheaton College's Karalee Angus Claims April 23 Division III Defensive Player of the Week Award
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Wheaton College goalie Karalee Angus (Jr., San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel) stopped 34 shots over three games to earn All-Tournament First Team honors, lead the Thunder to a fourth place finish and earn the April 23 Division III Defensive Player of the Week award for her performance at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWA) Division III Championship hosted by Grove City College.
A First Team All-Tournament selection, she opened the tournament with 14 saves in a 4-3 victory over Carthage College before notching 10 stops in a 9-7 semifinal loss to No. 10-nationally ranked Washington & Jefferson College. In the third place game versus Connecticut College, she stopped 10 shots as the Thunder fell by an 11-4 final to the Camels.
