Princeton University's Brittany Zwirner Named April 16 Southern Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Brittany Zwirner (Jr., Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill) of No. 14 Princeton University scored seven goals at the Southern Division Championship tournament at Bucknell University, including four in a 9-8 victory over Brown University for the division title, to earn the April 16 Women's Varsity Southern Division Player of the Week award.

Her final goal against Brown came with 2.4 seconds remaining in regulation for the deciding factor as the Tigers completed the Southern Division regular and postseason with an 8-0 mark to move to 24-4 on the season.

In addition, she added a steal and an assist against the Bears as the Tigers claimed the Southern Division Championship and the No. 2 seed for the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship on April 27-29 at Brown.

Earlier in the tournament she netted two goals and three steals in an opening round 11-8 victory over George Washington University before posting a goal, an assist and a steal versus the host Bison of Bucknell to finish with seven goals, an assist and five steals over the course of the division tournament.

The award marks the sixth of her career as she previously earned notice as the February 14, 2011 Southern Division Player of the Week after taking the February 22, March 15, April 12 and May 3 Southern Division Rookie of the Week during the 2010 campaign.
