BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Darren McKay (Jr., Wilton Manors, Fla./Northeast) of the United States Naval Academy guarded the opposing centers in both games over the weekend and played strong man-down defense to lead the Midshipmen to a pair of victories and earn the October 18 Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week award. 

He saved two goals in the field against No. 17 Princeton University in a 7-6 OT SD victory to put Navy into a tie in the Southern Division-East Region title race.  In addition, he aided a Navy defense which held Bucknell University to four goals in a 9-4 victory as the Mids opened up a half-game lead over Princeton for first place in the region.
