Bucknell University's Todd Merriett Named 2011 Men's Varsity Southern Division Sports Information Director of the Year
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Bucknell University water polo contact Todd Merriett garnered his fourth Sports Information Director of the Year award from the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) as he picked up the 2011 Men's Varsity Southern Division SID of the Year plaque.
Selected by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Director of Communications in consultation with the league's membership, the SID of the Year award is presented to those offices which have achieved notable excellence in the field of water polo communications during the past academic year.
The primary contact for the Bison football, men's water polo, wrestling, men's and women's swimming & diving, baseball, women's rowing and women's water polo teams, Merriett is no stranger to CWPA honors as he garnered honors as the 2008-10 Women's Varsity Southern Division Sports Information Director of the Year.
Merriett recently completed his seventh year working in the Bucknell Athletic Communications Office. He has worked closely with both the Bison men's and women's water polo programs throughout his tenure. Among his myriad of duties that aid the water polo programs are compiling statistics, serving as a liaison with the media, maintaining the Web site (BucknellBison.com) and producing the annual media guides. In 2005 Merriett served in a media relations host capacity for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men's Water Polo Championship that was held at Kinney Natatorium.
A 2002 graduate of Le Moyne College, Merriett spent his first two years in the athletic communications profession at Army.
