Gannon University Falls to Siena & Wagner at Bucknell Invitational
LEWISBURG, Pa. --
The Gannon University women’s water polo team lost its final
two games at the Bucknell Invitational falling to Siena College and
Wagner College by 14-5 and 11-3 scores, respectively.
In the first game, the Lady Knights fell behind 2-0 after the first
quarter. Gannon then out-scored Siena 3-1 in the second quarter to
tie the game at the half. However, the Lady Knights scored just two
goals in the second half while Siena added four in the third
quarter and six in the fourth quarter.
For Gannon, Katelyn Jacobs (Brookfield, Ill./Lyons
Township) and Kelsey Rzymek (Erie,
Pa./McDowell) each added two goals while Molly
Andrews (Tustin, Calif./Tustin) had one.
Janelle Bartman (Darien, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson)
had five blocks in goal.
In the second game Wagner jumped on the Lady Knights, out-scoring
them 3-1 in the first quarter and 4-0 in the second quarter. The
Lady Knights added two goals in each of the final two periods,
losing by an 11-3 final
Andrews accounted for all three Gannon goals. Bartman had four
blocks.
