Princeton's Mark Zalewski Named December 7 Men's Varsity Southern Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Princeton University's Mark Zalewski (Sr., St. Louis, Mo./Kirwood) scored three goals at the 2009 NCAA Championship, including a pair of scores in a 6-5 victory over No. 6 Loyola Marymount University in the third place game, to earn All-Tournament Second Team honors and garner the December 7 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Men's Varsity Southern Division Player of the Week award.

He led the Tigers with 57 goals on the year, incluidng a solo score in a 13-3 loss to No. 1-nationally ranked and National Champion the University of Southern California in the tournament semifinals.  His best game of the tournament came in the third place contest as he buried a pair of markers, including the game-winner, in a 6-5 victory over LMU to give the Tigers their highest finish in the history of the NCAA Championship.

No. 13-nationally ranked Princeton finished third at the NCAA Championship marking the second time in three years an East Coast team has finished third at the championship.
