NCAA Releases 2009 Men's Championship Field; Princeton Earns No. 4 Seed
INDIANAPOLIS,
Ind. - -The NCAA Men's Water Polo Committee
announced today the four teams participating in the 2009 National
Collegiate Men's Water Polo Championship. This year's
championship, hosted by Princeton University, will be held December
5-6.
In the first game, the University of Southern California (24-2)
will play Princeton University (15-11). The second game will
match Loyola Marymount University (19-7) versus University of
California, Los Angeles (22-6). Game times are 3 p.m. and 5
p.m. Eastern time respectively on December 5. The third-place game
will be played at noon Eastern time, December 6, with the
championship game at 2 p.m. Eastern time. The national
championship game will be televised live on CBS College Sports
Network.
Conferences receiving automatic qualification included the:
Collegiate Water Polo Association, Mountain Pacific Sports
Federation and the Western Water Polo Association. The
remaining team was selected at-large without geographical
restrictions.
