Nebraska's Marko Nikolic Named October 26 Great Plains Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Mark Nikolic (Sr., Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Northeast) of the University of Nebraska tallied 47 goals this season to lead the Cornhuskers in scoring and helped the squad advance go 3-1 at the division championship tournament to earn the October 26 Great Plains Division Player of the Week award.
Overall, he scored 12 goals to help the Huskers down the University of Kansas (5-0 Forfeit), Iowa State University (13-9 W) and Kansas State University (10-3 W) to advance to the division title game in which the University of Minnesota posted a 15-8 victory.
For Nebraska, which returned to the league this year following a two-year sabbatical from competition and finishes the season with a 9-3 record in CWPA Great Plains Division competition, the title game marked the first time the Cornhuskers have competed for a division championship in program history.
