Mercyhurst's Alex Moggridge Named October 12 Varsity Southern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Mercyhurst College's Alex Moggridge (Jr., Ottawa, Ontario/Nepea) posted 15 goals and 13 assists last week to lead the Lakers to a 3-0 record and earn the October 12 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Men's Varsity Southern Division Player of the Week award.
Mercyhurst downed Gannon University (16-11 W), Salem International University (13-4 W) and Penn State University-Behrend College (21-11 W) over the weekend as the Lakers clinched the Southern Division-Western Region with an 8-0 record.
Against Gannon, Moggridge posted seven goals and four assists for 11 points, while adding two goals and five assists for seven points versus Salem and six markers with four assists against Penn State-Behrend as he posted 10 or more points in two games.
