Tennessee's Drew Rhodes Named October 5 Southeast Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Drew Rhodes (Sr., Memphis, Tenn.) of the University of Tennessee led the team with 17 goals, seven assists and four steals while playing 119 minutes to earn the October 5 Southeast Division Player of the Week award for helping the Volunteers to a 2-2 weekend and the No. 4 seed for the upcoming Southeast Division Championship tournament.
Forced to play without a bench for the weekend, Rhodes led the team in scoring from two-meters as he helped the Volunteers defeat Auburn University (14-11 W) and University of Georgia (9-4 W), while falling to Vanderbilt University (11-3 L) and Georgia Tech (11-10 L OT SD).
Against defending Southeast Division champion Georgia Tech, he chipped in five goals to account for half Tennessee's scoring. In addition, he concluded the weekend with five man-up scores with providing stable counter-attack defense.
