Bucknell's Brian Barron Named October 5 Varsity Southern Division Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Bucknell University's Brian Barron (Fr., Oak Park, Ill./Fenwick) earned his second weekly award from the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) in as many weeks as he was named the October 5 Varsity Southern Division Rookie of the Week.
The September 25 honoree, he went five-of-six on sprints this week while adding a steal against Princeton University as the No. 18-nationally ranked Bison defeated No. 10 Navy (12-11 W) and fell to No. 19 Princeton University (12-5 L) in CWPA Southern Division-East Region action.
Overall, he leads Bucknell in sprints won this year with 18 as he is already tied for eighth on the single season record list at the University. In addition, he has appeared in all 16 games for the Bison, tallying nine goals with two assists and four steals while helping Bucknell to a 10-6 record, 4-1 in CWPA South play.
