Harvard's Egen Atkinson Named October 5 Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Harvard University senior Egen Atkinson (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani School) led the Crimson in scoring in four games last week at the Claremont Convergence to earn the October 5 Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week award. The honor marks the first Player of the Week accolade earned by Harvard during the 2009 men's season.
Playing against No. 20-nationally ranked California Baptist University (14-5 L), No. 14 Concordia University (Calif.) (11-6 L), in addition to Division III nationally-ranked No. 7 Chapman Univeristy (9-4 L) and No. 3 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (11-8 L), he tallied six goals over the four games.
His best game of the week came against Concordia as he registered a hat-trick, before adding another three-goal mark agianst Pomona-Pitzer.
