Utah's Sam Thomas Named September 28 Rocky Mountain Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- University of Utah goalie Sam Thomas helped the Utes go 4-1 to win the 2009 UC-Davis Men's Fall Invitational and earn the September 28 Rocky Mountain Division Player of the Week award. His best game came against the host Aggies as he blocked 17 shots and allowed two goals in a 5-2 victory.

Overall, he helped his team achieve a No. 2-national ranking by defeating No. 9 California Polytechnic State University (12-8 W), UC-Davis, No. 5 University of California-Los Angeles (11-5 W) and No. 1 University of California (8-4 W), while falling to No. 4 University of Arizona (10-8 L).
