Five Men's Club Divisions Set to Start Competition This Weekend

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- For the teams of the Great Plains, North Atlantic, New England, Rocky Mountain and Southeast Divisions the quest for the 2009 National Collegiate Club Championship begins this weekend as the five divisions will be in action on September 18-20.

In the Great Plains Division, Kansas State University, University of Kansas, University of Minnesota, University of Nebraska, Marquette University and University of Minnesota-Duluth will travel to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa for a 14-game tournament on September 19-20 to start the 2009 season.  One of two regular season tournaments in the division, as the team will converage on Iowa State again during the weekend of October 10-11 before deciding the division champion on October 24-25 in Minneapolis, Minn. at the University of Minnesota at the Great Plains Division Championship tournament.

Out west, the Rocky Mountain Division will get underway as University of Utah "A" and University of Utah "B" host the University of Denver, University of Colorado "A", University of Colorado "B" and Colorado State University at the Park City Aquatic Center in Parkt City, Utah on September 19-20 in a 12-game tournament.

Division play will continue on October 3-4 at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo before wrapping up on October 16-18 at the Rocky Mountain Division Championship hosted by University of Denver in Denver, Colo.

In the Northeastern corner of the country, the North Atlantic and New England Division title races will heat up at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. and the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt.

At Dartmouth, Yale University, Boston College, Boston University, Middlebury College, Williams College, University of Massachusetts, Wesleyan University and the host Big Green will meet on September 19-20 to start the New England Division race in a 16-game tournament.

The tournament marks the first of two regular season events as the teams will meet-up at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. on October 17-18 before traveling to Middlebury College on October 31-November 1 for the New England Division Championship.

Also in New England, the North Atlantic Division will start its season as U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Bates College, Tufts University, Bowdoin College, Amherst College, Trinity College (Conn.), Colby College and host Vermont clash on September 19-20 in a 16-game tournament. 

The event is the first of two regular season events in the North Atlantic Division as the teams will reconvene on October 2-4 at Amherst College in Amherst, Mass. before moving up to Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine for the division championship tournament on October 16-17.

Down the coast and to the west, the Southeast Division schedule commences at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn. as Vanderbilt University, Clemson University, Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), University of Georgia, Auburn University and the host Volunteers will clash in a 12-game tournament on September 18-20.

Division play will wrap-up on October 3-4 at Clemson in Clemson, S.C. before the schedule concludes with the Southeast Division Championship on October 24-25 at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga.
