Jonathan Miller Named Head Women's Coach at Grove City College
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of Jonathan Miller as the program's head varsity women's water polo coach.
A native of Fresno, Calif., he joins the Grove City staff after spending the 2008-09 academic year as assistant men's and women's water polo coach at California Baptist University.
A 2008 graduate of California Baptist, Miller earned four letters as a goalkeeper for CBU's men's water polo team. He graduated as the program's all-time leader in saves with 1,025 and owns the program's single-game saves record, 22, set against Pepperdine University in 2007.
During his career at Cal Baptist, he helped the team to an 86-55 overall record.
Miller, who will hold the rank of assistant professor of physical education and exercise science at Grove City, earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and recently completed his Masters of Science degree in Kinesiology at California Baptist.
He replaces Dave Fritz, who leaves
the program to take on the responsibilities of head women’s
swimming and diving coach at Grove City this year after serving as
head men's swimming and diving coach at the College. In seven years
as head men’s swimming and diving coach, Fritz has guided the
Wolverines to a 65-18 dual-meet record and three Presidents’
Athletic Conference titles.
Fritz coached women’s water polo at Grove City from 2002
through the 2009 season. He led the Wolverines to seven appearances
in the Collegiate III Championships during his tenure.
