Princeton's Horstmeyer & Cole Talk About Upcoming 2009 Varsity Season
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Princeton University senior Gregor Horstmeyer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) and junior Jeff Cole (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara) recently sat down with GoPrincetonTigers.tv to discuss the upcoming 2009 varsity season. The No. 11-ranked Tigers will open their season on September 11 versus No. 3-ranked University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) in a nationally televised game on ESPNU. Princeton enters the season ranked No. 1 in the CWPA to become the first non-reigning champion to enter a season No. 1 in the CWPA poll.
Princeton returns an experienced group of players this season after losing two players to graduation a season ago after the Tigers regained the Southern Championship for the first time since 2004 and advanced to the championship game of Easterns before falling at the United States Naval Academy 9-6.
The team will face a tough schedule as the Tigers will meet also Santa Clara University, Brown, University, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University, Navy, University of Southern California and Bucknell University, in addition to hosting the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship and competing at the SoCal Tournament.
