Fordham Water Polo Players Aid Freshmen on Move-In Day

BRONX, N.Y. - Members of the Fordham University football, volleyball, men's soccer, water polo and cross country squads spent part of Sunday standing at the ready outside of the various dorms, helping the incoming freshmen unload their vehicles. This has become an annual event for the Rams, who come to the aid of the Office of Residential Life by lending a hand to make move-in day run smoothly.

The football Rams were in charge of hauling the heavy goods at Alumni South and Martyr's Court, including refrigerators, televisions and cases of water, up flights of stairs, gleaning admiration from parents and students who thought they would have to do the heavy lifting themselves. They were aided at Alumni South by members of the women's cross country squad. The volleyball and water polo teams were out in force at Hughes Hall while the men's cross country team lent a hand at Tierney Hall. The men's soccer crew lugged packages at Queens Court.

Fordham will open its 2009 water polo season at the Navy Invitational on September 5th and 6th and will have their first home contest on Saturday, September 26th when they host Connecticut College in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatics Center at 8:00 p.m.
