CWPA Releases 2010 Men's Collegiate Club Northwest Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) has released the schedule for the 2010 Men's National Collegiate Club Northwest Division.

The Amazon Aquatic Center in Eugene, Oregon and Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Wash. will serve as host locations for the division's two regular season tournaments on the weekends of October 2-3 and October 16-17, respectively, to determine the regular season standings and championship seedings.  The teams will then converge at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash. for the Northwest Division Championship.

Comprised of the University of Washington, University of Oregon, Washington State University, University of Portland, Oregon State University, Seattle University, Central Washington University and Western Washington University, the Northwest Division will feature 32 regular season games and 12 championship contests as the eight teams will battle for a berth to the 2010 National Collegiate Club Championship at Southern Utah University.

In the history of the division, only three teams have captured the title as Washington (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2009), Oregon (2004, 2005, 2007, 2008) and Oregon State (2003) hold the previous 12 championships.  In addition, the trio comprise 75 percent of the teams to advance to the division title game as Washington State made the championship tilt in 1998.
