Grove City's Kate Stiebler Named May 10 Women's Varsity Division III Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Grove City College's Kate Stiebler (Sr., Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) scored 12 goals over five games, including a pair of four goal games, to lead the Wolverines to a fourth place finish at the 2010 Collegiate III National Championship hosted by Carthage College and earn the May 10 Women's Varsity Division III Player of the Week award.
She tallied a single score with five steals against Wheaton College in a 10-4 win, before adding another goal in an 11-3 loss to Occidental College. After putting up two goals and an assist against Carthage College in an 8-7 overtime loss to conclude the first day of competition, she wrapped up the tournament with back-to-back four goal outbursts against both California Lutheran University (10-8 L) and Carthage (11-9 L) as the Wolveirnes finsihed in fourth place of the five teams in the tournament field.
The award marks her third Division III Player of the Week nod this season as she previously picked up the April 12 and April 26 awards.
