Bucknell's Kandis Canonica Named April 19 Women's Varsity Southern Division Co-Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Bucknell University's Kandis Canonica (Jr., Burlingame, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep) scored four goals and dished out eight assists in a 1-1 week to lead the Bison to the Southern Division regular season title and earn the April 19 Women's Varsity Southern Division Co-Player of the Week award.

The award marks Canonica's second Player of the Week honor this season as she previously garnered recognition on February 15.

Against both No. 11-nationally ranked Hartwick College (14-12 L) at home and the University of Maryland (11-10 W) on the road, she posted two goals, four assists, a steal and two ejections drawn in both contests.

She netted the game-winning goal with 2:21 remaining in the fourth period versus Maryland as the the victory over the Terrapins helped the Bison lock-up the No. 1 seed for the Southern Division Championship on Saturday-Suunday, April 24-25 at Princeton University.

Overall, she now has 82 points on the season with 37 goals and a team high 45 assists.  For her career, Canonica's 170 assists rank first all-time in program history.
