Grove City's Kate Stiebler Named April 12 Women's Varsity Division III Co-Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Grove City College's Kate Stiebler (Sr., Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) registered 17 goals, five assists and 15 steals in a 5-0 weekend for the Wolverines at the final Division III regular season event at Connecticut College to earn the April 12 Women's Varsity Division III Co-Player of the Week award. The victories helped Grove City clinch the No. 1 seed for the Division III Championship on April 23-24 at Utica College.
She aided the Wolverines in handling Connecticut College (17-5 W), Utica College (11-2 W), Chatham University (15-8 W), Pennsylvania State University-Behrend (12-3 W) and Washington & Jefferson College (12-5 W) to conclude the season 10-0 in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III play.
Against Chatham, she posted six goals, an assist and five steals to become the all-time leading scorer in Grove City history and finish the weekend with 170 career goals.
In addition, Stiebler added three goals, two assists and three steals in the victory over Washington & Jefferson College as the Wolverines fininshed the regular season undefeated in league play.
She shares the award with Jessica Barby of Washington & Jefferson College, who tallied 21 goals, 12 assists and seven assists for the Presidents.
