Michigan's Alex Adamson Named April 5 Women's Varsity Western Division Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- University of Michigan goalie Alex Adamson (Fr., Coronado, Calif./Coronado) recorded seven saves with a steal to lead the No. 8-ranked Wolverines to a 6-4 victory over No. 15 Indiana University and earn the April 5 Women's Varsity Western Division Defensive Player of the Week award.

She finished with three blocks on man-up chances and allowed four goals as Adamson helped Michigan extended its winning streak against CWPA Western Division opponents to 17 regular-season games and clinch the regular-season Western Division title.  In addition, the Wolverines claimed the No. 1 seed for the 2010 CWPA Western Division Championship, which will be played on April 24 at Canham Natatorium.

Through 17 games, she has 86 saves, 19 assists and 12 steals with 69 goals against in 360 minutes of play for an 8-1 record, .555 save percentate and 6.13 goals against average.
