Washington & Jefferson Doubles-Up PSU-Behrend 12-6 in Non-League Action

ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team dropped a 12-6 decision to Washington & Jefferson College in the Junker Center pool on April 1 in non-league action. 

The Blue and White fell behind early but rallied to tie the score and then took the lead at 4-3 after one period.  The visiting Presidents would storm back with three goals unanswered goals in the second period to take a 6-4 lead into the break.

The Presidents continued the offensive pressure in the second half, opening up a 10-4 lead and holding on for the six-goal victory.   

MaryEllen Spooner (Fr., Springfield, Va./West Springfield) led the Behrend Lions offense blasting home three goals while Tegan Boland (Jr., Roselle, Ill./Conant) scored two goals, and Stefania Pontillo (Fr., Erie, Pa./McDowell) added two goals of her own.
