George Washington's Charlotte Schou Named March 29 Women's Varsity Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- George Washington University goalie Charlotte Schou (Jr., Miami, Fla./Miami Country Day) posted 34 saves, including a career-high 21 stops in a victory over Villanova University, in a 1-1 week to earn the March 29 Women's Varsity Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week award.

Against Villanova in a 9-7 victory, she posted 21 saves to finish one off the school record of 22 set by Julie Jacoby '08 against Harvard University (3/1/08) and Villanova (3/3/07).  She wrapped up the week with 13 saves in a 10-7 come-from-behind victory by Bucknell University to become the third Bucknell goalie to exceed the 500-career save mark.

On the year, she has 174 saves with 138 goals allowed (.558 save percentage) as Schou has recorded 512 saves with 425 goals allowed (.546 save percentage) in three seasons between the pipes for the Colonials.
