Harvard's Devan Kennifer Named March 22 Women's Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Devan Kennifer (So., Monterey, Calif./Santa Catalina) of Harvard University tallied 11 goals and seven steals in a 3-3 week for the Crimson, including a victory over No. 19-nationally ranked California State University-East Bay, to garner recognition as the March 22 Women's Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week.
The award marks the fifth-time in her two-year career Kennifer has been recognized by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) league office for her play. Named the March 8 Women's Northern Division Player of the Week earlier this month for her play at the Elite Eight Tournament, she previously received the February 9 and 16 Rookie of the Week and March 30 Player of the Week awards last season.
Last week, she posted a hat-trick against Fresno Pacific University (7-4 W), tallied a marker against No. 15 University of California-Davis (12-4 L), aided against San Jose State University (13-7 L) and registered hat-tricks versus No. 19 CSU-East Bay (15-11 W) and No. 17 University of the Pacific (11-5 L). She concluded the week with a solo score in a 13-10 victory over California State University-Monterey Bay to help the Crimson move to 11-8 on the season.
