Macalester's Hannah Strauss-Albee Named March 22 Women's Varsity Division III Rookie & Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Macalester College goalie Hannah Strauss-Albee (Fr., Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) anchord the Scots' defense against California Baptist University, California Institute of Technology, University of La Verne, Fresno Pacific University, University of Redlands and Whittier College to earn accolades as the March 22 Women's Varsity Division III Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week.
She notched eight saves, two assists and a steal against Cal Baptist (19-4 L), 10 saves with an assist versus Cal Tech (14-12 W), four and eight saves against Whittier College (17-6 L) and La Verne (14-7 L), respectively. In addition, she added 10 stops versus Fresno Pacific (23-7 L) and nine saves in a 21-9 loss to Redlands.
Overall, she totaled four assists, 10 steals and 71 saves during Macalester's eight game Spring Break trip.
