Indiana's Cassie Wyckoff Named February 15 Women's Varsity Western Division Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Cassie Wyckoff (So., Los Altos, Calif./Los Altos) of No. 19-nationally ranked Indiana University made 28 saves on 64 shots with one assist and three steals while solidifying a team defense that allowed 17 goals in four games to earn the February 15 Women's Varsity Western Division Defensive Player of the Week award.
In a 4-0 weekend for the Hoosiers at the Bucknell University Bison Invitational, she anchored the team between the pipes as Indiana improved to 7-4 with an active six-game winning streak.
Versus Marist College, she stopped 10 of 21 shots in 26 minutes of action in a 9-3 victory over the Red Foxes while allowing two goals and grabbing a steal. She added six saves on 17 shots in the Hoosiers' 16-5 victory over Siena College in addition to an assist in 16 minutes of play.
She completed her weekend with 12 saves on 26 shot attempts, in addition to a pair of steals, in a complete game 13-7 win against the host Bison of Bucknell.
For the year, she has recorded double-digit saves in four games and has 74 saves in 210 minutes of play.
