CWPA Releases Updated 2010 Women's Pacific Coast Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- An updated schedule of games for the Women's National Collegiate Club Pacific Coast Division was released today by the Collegiate Water Polo Association. Game times for the season-opening event at San Diego State University on February 13-14 are now approximately 45 minutes later than originally released last month.

Regular season play will continue on February 27-28 before concluding on April 10-11 with the division championship. The division champion will advance to the 2010 Women's National Collegiate Club Championship at the University or Arizona.

Comprised of California Polytechnic State University, Loyola Marymount University, Pepperdine University, San Diego State University, University of California-Irvine, University of California-Los Angeles "A", University of California-Los Angeles "B", University of California-San Diego and University of Southern California, the division has been dominated by Cal Poly over the past decade. 

The Mustangs will seek their 10th division title after previously claiming the 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 championships.  Among the rest of the division, only USC (2004) and UCLA (2001) have hoisted a division champinoship plaque since the inception of the division in 1999.

Competition will commence on February 13-14 at San Diego State University before continuing on February 27-28 at UCLA.  Following contests between San Diego State-UC San Diego and UCLA "A"-UCLA "B", the division champion will be decided on April 10-11 at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, Calif. as Cal Poly will host the 15-game Pacific Coast Division Championship.

The division champion and runner-up, due to Cal Poly winning the 2009 National Championship, will advance to take part and hold the No. 1 berth at the 2010 Women's National Collegiate Club Championship at the University of Arizona on April 23-25.
