Browns's Holland & Stefanovic Named 2009 ACWPC All-America Selections
PROVIDENCE, RI
-- Kent Holland (Sr., Orinda,
Calif./Miramonte) and Svetozar Stefanovic (Fr.,
Belgrade, Serbia/Russian Embassy) of the Brown University
men's water polo team have recently been named Honorable Mention
All-America selections by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo
Coaches (ACWPC).
Stefanovic, a First Team All-East and All-North selection, and the
Northern Division Player of the Year, helped lead the Brown water
polo team to a Northern Division Championship and a 17-12 overall
record. The rookie scored a team-high 81 goals, which ranked third
in the country, and also tallied 68 ejections drawn. His 81 goals
in a season is also the most in Brown water polo history.
A Second Team All-East selection and First Team All-North honoree,
Holland saw action in 29 games and earned a 15-12 overall record.
He had a goals-against average 8.94 and recorded 231 saves for a 51
percent save percentage. His 9.43 saves per game ranked 11th in the
country, and he currently holds the Brown record for saves in a
season (290 in 2008) and also in a career (946). He also received
Academic All-Ivy honors in the fall.
