2010 Michigan Kick-Off Tournament Schedule Released
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan Department of Athletics has released the schedule of games for the 2010 Michigan Kick-Off Tournament set for January 23-24 at Canham Natatorium in Ann Arbor, Mich. as the No. 10-nationally ranked Wolverines will host No. 3 and defending national champion University of California-Los Angeles, No. 6 San Jose State, University No. 7 San Diego State University, No. 19 Indiana University, University of California-San Diego and Colorado State University.
The Michigan Athletic Communications Office will be supplying a live-blog during the Wolverines' games, while final scores for all 13 games will be available on the Blue & Maize's Game Day Central page.
Michigan owns a 24-11-1 record when hosting the Michigan Kick-Off/Invitational. The Kick-Off, originally tabbed as the Michigan Invitational and renamed in 2006, has been held at Canham Natatorium since 2002. The Wolverines are 12-11-1 against ranked opponents at the tournament and have knocked off a pair of No. 7-ranked teams. In the 2005 season opener, No. 9-ranked Michigan downed then-No. 7 Long Beach State, 7-4. Four years later, with a No. 10 ranking at their back, the Wolverines knocked off then-No. 7 San Jose State by a 8-6 tally.
Michigan is 5-4 all-time in home openers and 6-3 in season openers. The Wolverines are 66-19-1 all-time at Canham, including a 12-2 record last season.
