Indiana Releases 2010 Women's Varsity Elite Eight Tournament Schedule

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The University of Michigan, Bucknell University, Brown University, Indiana University, University of Maryland, Hartwick College, Princeton University and Harvard University will clash on March 6-7 at Indiana as the 2010 Elite Eight Tournament schedule was released by Indiana head coach Barry King.

The championship tournament will mark the second consecutive year Michigan, Maryland, Hartwick, Harvard, Bucknell and Princeton will meet in a non-conference tournament as the six clashed in the inaugural and non-championship "Elite Six" Tournament last year at Bucknell. 

This year, the host Hoosiers of Indiana and Brown University join the field to expand the event to an eight-team championship tournament.

First round match-ups on March 6 including Michigan-Bucknell, Brown-Indiana, Hartwick-Princeton and Maryland-Harvard, with the losers of the games meeting in consolation contests, while the victors advance to the tournament semifinals later in the day.

On Sunday, March 7, two more consolation games will be held, while the losers and victors of the semifinals clash in the third and championship games, respectively.

By agreement among the coaches, the consolation games, if possible, will be arranged to prevent Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) divisional opponents (North, South, West) from playing each other.
