George Washington's Alex Sotolongo Named Sept. 29 Southern Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- George Washington University goalie Alex Sotolongo (Fr., Coral Gables, Fla./Ransom Everglades) made 16 saves with an assist and four steals in a 1-1 weekend for the Colonials to earn the September 29 Southern Division Rookie of the Week award.

Against Bucknell University, he made 10 saves with an assist and a steal in an 11-9 victory over the Bison on Saturday before blocking away six shots to go along with three steals in a narrow 11-9 loss to division leader and No. 19 nationally ranked Princeton University.

On the year, he has 92 saves, three assists and 21 steals with 135 goals allowed in 50 quarters for a 40.5 save percentage and 10.80 goals against average.
