Texas' Matt Johnson Named Sept. 22 Texas Division Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The University of Texas' Matt Johnson (So., Houston, Texas) scored 11 goals, handed out nine assists, grabbed four steals and recorded two field blocks in a 3-2 weekend to earn the September 22 Texas Division Player of the Week award and lead the Longhorns at the 2008 UC-Davis Invitational.

Against No. 8 nationally ranked Arizona State University, he tallied four goals in a 14-12 loss before guiding the team against California State University-Chico (9-4 W), the University of California-Davis "B" (17-6 W), the University of Washington (12-8 W) and the University of Florida (10-7 L).
