Brown's Toby Espinosa Named Sept. 15 Northern Division Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Brown University utility player Toby Espinosa (Fr., Palo Alto, Calif./Menlo) scored once in a 10-8 upset of No. 15 Santa Clara University, provided stellar defense and helped lead the No. 19 Bears' counter-attack to earn accolades as the September 15 Northern Division Rookie of the Week.

Against Santa Clara, Espinosa scored one of the Bears' 10 goals to help Brown knock off the Broncos and highlight a week in which the Bears also faced No. 3 Stanford University (12-4 L), No. 20 Princeton University (14-9 L), No. 20 California Baptist University (14-13 L 2OT) and Division III No. 2 Johns Hopkins University (12-11 W) to open the season 2-3.
