Johns Hopkins to Participate in "Sink or Pink" at 2008 Division III Eastern Championship
BALTIMORE, MD - When the Johns
Hopkins men's water polo team hosts the 2008 Division III Eastern
Championships next weekend on October 25-26, it will not only be
seeking its 11th title but it will also be helping in the fight
against breast cancer.
In collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Student Athlete Advisory
Committee, the team will be collecting donations during the week
leading up to the championship and at the door on Saturday and
Sunday. Fans wishing to participate can make donations on a
per-goal-scored basis ($1 per goal scored for example) or with a
set donation. In addition, the team will don pink swimming suits to
show their support. All funds raised will go directly to Komen
Maryland, the Maryland affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Foundation.
Fans attending the DIII Eastern Championships are also encouraged
to wear pink to the event.
Johns Hopkins, the #1 seed in the tournament, is hosting the DIII
Eastern Championships for the first time since 2003 and welcomes
Connecticut College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Penn
State Behrend College and Washington & Jefferson College.
The championship schedule and Baltimore hotel information are available on the CWPA website.
