Changes to Division III Club Championship Bids Announced

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association has announced that the seedings for the 2008 Men's Division III Collegiate Club Championship at Villanova University on November 1-2 have been changed per the published schedule.

Carnegie Mellon University will receive the Mid-Atlantic berth, while the runner-up from the Heartland Division will receive the host seed berth as another team from the Mid-Atlantic Division is unable to attend the championship.

By league policy, the first open slot is awarded to the runner-up from the division finishing highest in the previous year (Missouri Valley Division).  However, Washington University declined the opportunity to attend allowing the runner-up from the second place division (Heartland Division).  Consequently, the host position in the schedule will be awarded to the runner-up from the Heartland Division.

2007 Division III National Collegiate Club Champion Lindenwood University returns as the Missouri Valley Division representative and the No. 1 seed for the championship.  The Heartland Division, North Atlantic Division, Mid-Atlantic Division, Great Lakes Division, New England Division and New York Division round out seeds No. 2 through 7.

The 2008 Division III National Collegiate Club schedule and hotel information are both available online.
