Michigan State Holds Onto No. 1 Ranking in Oct. 22 Men's National Collegiate Club Poll

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Michigan State University held onto the No. 1 ranking in the country for the fifth consecutive week as the Spartans garnered 99 points to lead the October 22 Men's National Collegiate Club Poll released by the Collegiate Water Polo Association league office.

However, MSU saw a five point lead which it carried from last week's poll diminish to three points as the University of California-Los Angles garnered 96 points to climb within striking distance of the Spartans.  2007 defending National Champion California Polytechnic State University moved up one place to third this week, while Arizona State University and the University of Pennsylvania climbed to No. 4 and 5, respectively.

Florida International University fell to No. 6, Pennsylvania State University moved to No. 7, the University of Utah slipped to No. 8, Lindenwood University moved into the Top 10 at No. 9 and the University of Arizona held firm at No. 10 to round out the Top 10 teams in the nation.

Dartmouth College, Grand Valley State University, the University of Florida and the University of Texas remained in the Top 15 at No. 11 through 14, Purdue University inched up to No. 15 and Oregon State University claimed No. 16 after being unranked last week.

Indiana University remained at No. 17, the University of Central Florida took possession of No. 18, the University of California-Berkeley moved into the poll at No. 19 and the University of Michigan ranks No. 20 to round out the Top 20.
