Duke's Jamie Friedland Named October 13 Atlantic Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Duke University co-captain Jamie Friedland (Sr., Chicago, Ill./Latin School of Chicago) helped the Blue Devils go 4-0 this week in the Atlantic Division to earn the October 13 Atlantic Division Player of the Week award and help Duke clinch the No. 1 seed for the upcoming division championship.
Last week, Friedland tallied 19 goals with three assists and nine steals as the Blue Devils downed St. Mary's College of Maryland (18-8 W), the University of Maryland (9-7 W), North Carolina State University (18-5 W) and James Madison University (8-7 W) as Duke finished the regular season 8-0 in the Atlantic Division.
Friedland and the Blue Devils will look to earn the program's first division title and bid to the National Collegiate Club Championship when Duke travels to the University of Virginia on October 25-26 to take on the other 10 schools in the division for the Atlantic Division Championship.
