Brown's Mike Gartner Named Nov. 24 Northern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Mike Gartner (Sr., San Jose, Calif./Bellarmine) of Brown University averaged a hat-trick with nine goals in three games to earn the November 24 Northern Division Player of the Week award and lead the No. 17 ranked Bears to a fourth place finish at the Eastern Championship.
Against Division III No. 1 ranked Johns Hopkins University, he led Brown with four goals, one assist, three ejections drawn and a steal in a 12-6 victory over the Blue Jays. He tacked on two goals and six ejections drawn in a 14-9 loss to No. 13 ranked Princeton University before adding three goals in an 11-8 loss to St. Francis College in the third place game.
For his performance, he was named to the All-East first team and received All-North first team honors at the CWPA's annual banquet on November 21.
