Brown's Stephanie Laing Named March 23 Northern Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Brown University goalie Stephanie Laing (Jr., Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) made 44 saves and corralled seven steals earn the March 23 Northern Division Player of the Week award and lead the Bears to a 7-4 win over Pacific University at the San Diego State University Aztec Invitational last week.
Against the Tigers, she made 10 saves as Brown held off Pacific to finish 1-4 on the week.
In addition, she swatted down six shots versus No. 19-nationally ranked Indiana University (9-8 L), blocked seven in two quarters against No. 4 University of Hawaii (20-4 L), stopped eight in a loss to No. 6 University of California (11-7 L) and handled 13 against No. 5 San Diego State University (10-6 L).
The honor marks Laing's second Northern Division Player of the Week award as she previously earned recognition on February 16.
