BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Stanford University, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and Hartwick College retained their positions at No. 1 in the March 18 National Varsity Top 20, Division III Top 10 and Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top 10 polls.
The ranking marks the fourth consecutive week Stanford has held the No. 1 spot as the Cardinal took over the top-ranking from the University of Southern California in the February 25 poll.
University of Southern California, University of California-Los Angeles, University of Hawaii and San Diego State University remain at No. 2 through 5 as the top five positions in the poll remain unchanged from the March 11 poll.
University of California moved up one place to No. 6, dropping former sixth-ranked Arizona State University back to No. 7 this week, while University of California-Irvine moved past San Jose State University to take over the No. 8 spot in the poll.
San Jose State slipped to No. 9 and Loyola Marymount University retained possession of No. 10 to round out the Top 10 in the poll.
The most significant changes occurred between No. 11 through 15 as University of California-Davis moved up to No. 11, Hartwick College jumped to No. 12, University of California-Santa Barbara remained at No. 13, University of Michigan progreessed to No. 14 and California State University-Northridge fell four places to No. 15.
University of California-San Diego and Long Beach State University stayed at No. 16 and 17, respectively, while Indiana University moved to No. 18, California State University-Bakersfield regressed to No. 19 and Santa Clara University held onto No. 20 to round out the poll.

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges saw its run as the No. 1 Division III team
in the nation continue for another week as the Sagehens received
100 points to be a unanimous No. 1 selection in the March 18
Division III poll.
The ranking marks the 11th week in a row Pomona-Pitzer has been
ranked No. 1 dating back to April 30, 2008 when the Sagehens took
over the top-ranking from California Lutheran University.
Occidental College and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges held firm at No. 2 and 3, while University of California-Santa Cruz climbed one place to take over possession of the No. 4-ranking from California Lutheran. Cal Lutheran dropped back to No. 5 for the only other change in the Top Nine as California State University-East Bay, University of Redlands, Whittier College and Chapman College remained at No. 6 through 9, respectively.
The biggest change occurred at No. 10 as Macalester College and Washington & Jefferson College moved from the legion of the unranked to tying for the final position in the poll. Grove City College, which was No. 10 last week, also received votes this week.

Hartwick College remains No. 1 in the March 18 Collegiate Water
Polo Association Top 10 poll as the Hawks held onto the position
for a third week.
Crowned No. 1 in the March 4 poll after defeating 2008 CWPA Eastern Champion and former No. 1 the University of Michigan, Hartwick is followed by the Wolverines, Indiana University, University of Maryland, Princeton University and Brown University as the top six positions in the poll remain the same from the March 11 balloting.
The final four spots in the poll all saw change as Bucknell University climbed to No. 7, surpassing Harvard University. Harvard dropped back to No. 8, while George Washington University jumped to No. 9 after dropping to No. 10 last week. Gannon University, which was No. 9 a week ago, slipped back to No. 10.
