Cal Poly's Sarah Ur Named March 16 Pacific Coast Division Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Sarah Ur (So., Lompoc, Calif./Cabrillo) of No. 4-nationally ranked California Polytechnic State University scored seven goals to lead the Mustangs to wins over No. 9 Michigan State University (4-1 W), University of California-Berkeley (7-1 W), No. 3 University of California-Davis (5-1 W) and No. 5 University of Notre Dame (5-3 W) to earn the March 16 Pacific Coast Division Player of the Week award.
The 2008 Pacific Coast Division Most Valuable Player, National Player of the Year and National Collegiate Club Championship Most Valuable Player, she was named to the National Collegiate Club All-Tournament and All-America first teams and the Collegiate Water Polo Association Scholar-Athlete Team while leading the Mustangs to the National Championship last year and becoming the first freshman in collegiate club history (men and women) to sweep the national awards.
