Universal Sports to Broadcast FINA World Championships Live July 25-Aug. 1

ROME, Italy -- Universal Sports will broadcast the 2009 FINA World Water Polo Championships live from Rome on July 25 through August 1. Featuring the world's best players on the sports biggest stage this year for the world championship, the 2009 FINA Championship will be available online at Universal Sports' Swimming page or FINA World Championship page.

Leading the charge for the women's national team will be 2008 Collegiate Water Polo Association Hall of Fame inductee Betsey Armstrong, who will anchor the United States team in cage.  A former University of Michigan varsity standout and Arizona State University club athlete, Armstrong is one of 12 Olympians on the United States roster, including 10 members of the 2007 World Championship squad that won Gold in Melbourne, Australia. Further, the United States is coming off a gold medal at the 2009 FINA World League Super Final in Kirishi, Russia, making the USA a favorite to repeat as World Champions.
