Bucknell Alums Aaron Platshon & Brad Roslyn to Compete in 2009 Maccabiah Games

TEL AVIV, Israel - Bucknell University 2006 graduates Aaron Platshon (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo School) and Bradley Roslyn (Philadelphia, Pa./William Penn Charter) are among 8,000 athletes from approximately 60 nations world-wide who will participate in the 18th Maccabiah Games in Tel Aviv, Israel beginning on July 12.

Sometimes referred to as the "Jewish Olympics", these Games are held every four years in Israel and attract the most outstanding Jewish athletes from around the world. Serure will represent the United States in the two-week competition that will begin with Opening Ceremonies in Tel Aviv's Ramat Gan Stadium.

Platshon, Roslyn and their 11 teammates, including Johns Hopkins University senior Jamie Neuwirth (Ross, Calif./Phillips Andover) and Brown University newcomer Dean Serure (Coconut Grove, Fla./Ransom-Everglades), will open play against Mexico on July 13 and play four games in the round robin competition before moving into the medal round.
