Fordham Water Polo Reaches Out During the Holidays

Bronx, N.Y. - With the hustling of the holidays and studying for exams, the Fordham Water Polo team took on some extra work this December, partaking in the Reach Out & Read Program at the Union Community Health Center's Pediatric Primary Care Center of St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx.

"This volunteer work is in line with the Jesuit philosophy of men and women for others," said Head Coach Bill Harris. "The team enjoys reading to the children at the clinic, and it is an important part of being a student-athlete to perform service to the community."

During the month, two student-athletes at a time go to the Pediatric Center of the Hospital, and sit and read to children in the waiting room for shifts of two hours.

The water polo team continues a long standing tradition of Fordham student-athletes giving their time to the Health Center and the Reach Out & Read Program.
