Michigan's Morgan Turner Named April 13 Western Division Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- University of Michigan goalie Morgan Turner (Fr., Mission Viejo, Calif./Trabuco Hills) made 18 saves in three games to earn the April 13 Western Division Rookie of the Week award and help the No. 13-ranked Wolverines knock off No. 20 UC-San Diego (10-6 W), Cal Baptist (11-5 W) and No. 7 San Diego State (9-8 W OT)at the Aztec Mini-Tournament at San Diego State over the weekend.
Against San Diego State University, she made 11 saves on 14 shots after taking over prior to the start of the third period as the Wolverines upset the Aztecs by one in overtime. She added two saves in eight minutes of play against Cal Baptist, and chipped in five saves on six shots in eight minutes against UC-San Diego.
The honor marks the third Rookie of the Week award for Turner this year as she previously garnered accolades on February 16 and March 2.
