ATHENS, Ohio --  Peter Huyser (Jr., Zeeland, Mich.) made 16 saves to earn Player of the Game honors and Josh Ensing (Jr., Zeeland, Mich.) recorded a hat-trick to lead No. 6 Grand Valley State University to a 7-5 overtime win against No. 13 Dartmouth College and a berth in the fifth place game at the 2008 National Collegiate Club Championship at Ohio University.

The Lakers will next be in action at 10:15 a.m. against the victor of a third round game between No. 17 the University of Illinois-Chicago and No. 9 the University of Oregon in the fifth place game, while Dartmouth will also face the loser of the UIC-Oregon game at 9:00 a.m. in the seventh place game.

Leading 5-4 entering the fourth period, GVSU saw its lead evaporate with 1:03 left in the period as the Big Green's Nicholas Riolo (Gr., Redondo Beach, Calif.) beat Huyser to even the score and force overtime.

In the pair of three-minute overtime periods, GVSU controlled the pace and style of play pushing the tempo and playing physical in front of the cage to set up shots.  The Lakers work paid off with 47 seconds into the first OT frame as Josh Geneva (So., Grand Haven, Mich.) tallied the eventual game-winner to give Grand Valley at 6-5 lead.

Facing the possibility of a Dartmouth comeback to bring on sudden death overtime, Ensing secured the Lakers victory by converting on an exclusion chance with 1:19 remaining in the second OT period for the 7-5 victory.

Overall, the key to the game was GVSU's ability to cash in on exclusion opportunities as four of the Lakers seven goals came with an man-up advantage.

The game was tight throughout with Grand Valley jumping out to a 2-1 lead in the first period before Dartmouth responded with even-strength scores by Doug Nelson (Jr., Hinsdale, Ill.) and Scott Sorensen (Jr., Walnut Creek, Calif.) in the second period to give the Big Green a 3-2 lead at halftime.

Dartmouth and Grand Valley exchanged goals to open the third period with Ensing scoring on an exclusion chance at 4:52 to tie the score, Riolo scoring on an exclusion at 4:15 to put Dartmouth back in front 4-3, and Andrew Ornee (Sr., Zeeland, Mich.) tallying a score at 3:14 to again even the score at 4-4.

Ensing finished the scoring in the period at the 10 seconds mark with his second goal of the game to put Grand Vallehy up 5-4 at the end of the third period and setup Riolo's game-tying/overtime forcing score in the waning moments of the fourth period.

Kyle Finnegan (Sr., Palatine, Ill.) made four saves for Dartmouth in cage as the Big Green will have a chance in their final game on the tournament on November 16 to place seventh at Nationals and improve on the team's last finish at the championship (11th in 2003).
