9-7-05 David Zenk, George Washington University

David Zenk had a phenomenal collegiate debut at the Navy Open on Sept. 3-4.
He recorded 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) and had 16 steals in just four
games, helping the Colonials to a 2-2 start to the season. Zenk comes in as a freshman, adding versatility to the GW offense with tremendous driving ability.

He proved reliable in every game with a balanced level of scoring against each opponent. Zenk scored three goals and tallied three assists in GW's win over Iona on Sept. 4, preceded by a hat trick in the Colonials' win versus Penn State Behrend on Sept. 3. Versus nationally-ranked Pacific Zenk scored two goals, while posting a goal and three assists against No. 12 Saint Francis (NY).

 

9-21-05 George Naughton, United States Naval Academy

Sophomore George Naughton helped Navy to an 11th-place finish in the SoCal Invite last weekend with one of the best weekends of his career. He stopped a combined 37 shots in four games to help anchor the defense. Against 15th ranked University of California, Santa Barbara, Naughton posted a career-high 13 saves and one penalty shot blocked, leading the Midshipmen to their first victory over the Gauchos in their history. His other games were solid as well, as he stopped seven shots, including a penalty shot, in a victory over 13th ranked University of California-Davis, he tallied nine saves against #10 Loyola Marymount, and stopped eight more against 6th ranked Pepperdine University.

 

9-28-05 Aaron Platshon, Bucknell University

 

Senior Captain Aaron Platshon showed his versatility this weekend helping
Bucknell in a sweep of league competition. In a game against George
Washington, Platshon had three goals, an assist and two steals en route to
an 11-3 victory. In a thrilling 12-11 overtime victory over Princeton,
Platshon scored two goals, assisted on three others, stole the ball once
and drew two ejections. Against Salem International Platshon drew four
ejections to help bring the Bison back from an early two goal deficit to
prevail 8-4. Platshon is relied upon as the primary center defender and
has done the job of handling teams center forwards. He has expanded into
the offense as well,currently second on the team in scoring with fifteen
goals and nineteen assists.
